Clandestine Drug Lab Decontamination

Australia wide experts specialising in safe property remediation.

When Do You Need to Hire Contam Solutions?

Methamphetamine (meth) labs can be set-up almost anywhere and they pose a significant health risk. Contaminants can linger in the air and on surfaces long after the lab has been removed, and could pose a severe risk to anyone living or working there.

The good news is that in the majority of cases casual or light meth use will not mean your property needs to be professionally remediated for drug residue.

Only in cases of actual drug manufacture or extremely heavy meth use, where the property exceeds levels higher thanof 0.5 µg/100 cm2 will the property need to be remediated.

THE BASIC STEPS IN METH CLEANING

The following steps will make it easy for you to know where to start and what’s next in the remediation process of a meth house.
If you suspect that your property could be contaminated with meth, your first step is establishing if meth is present in the building.

If you only suspect meth use, then a cost effective option for you is to purchase a rapid test home test kit to see if there is an indication of meth residue present within a property or structure. If the test returns a strong positive result then you will need to undertake a full forensic test.

If you know definitively that the property has been subject to heavy meth use or drug manufacture, Contam can assit you in engaging a suitable NIOSH accedited testing company to undertake a full forensic screen of the property and produce a comprehnsive report as to the level of contamination and details of the remediation steps needed.
Insurers have an essential role in helping protect you from financial loss due to meth contamination.

Even before you have a full forensic screen undertaken, contact your insurancecompany to discuss your meth claim. Your insurer will require you to provide full forensic Lab Test results from an accredited provider to prove the levels of meth contamination and make a meth-related claim.

If this comprehensive test confirms contamination above the safe level, your insurance may reimburse the cost of this testing as part of an accepted claim.
If the initial meth pre-screening results are positive and indicate levels over the recommended guidelines, then a detailed room by room lab test is required to determine the extent of methamphetamine contamination in each dwelling area.

Contam can help you arrange a detailed forensic screening to be undertaken by a qualified and NIOSH trained testing business using NATA accredited lab analysis.
Once you have received a detailed forensic report that confirms the presence of meth contamination levels abouve the Australian standard, Contam can then proivde you with a comprehensive quote to undertake the necessary cleaning work to restore your property to a safe, liveable and healthy home again.

Our prices are competitive, transparent and fair.

We provide a guaranteed, fixed-price quote for free with no obligation.
Based on the results and recommendations of the forensic report, a Hygiene Remediation Action Plan (HRAP or RAP) will be created that Contam will use to determine both the areas and level of decontamination needed make the property safe.

Our cleanup process uses Commercial Decontamination Solutions to eliminate meth and other hazardous substances. We apply our cleaning products as foam, fog or liquid to effectively reach and saturate all contaminated areas. These are then washed off.

Our decontamination process is non-hazardous; biodegradable; environmentally-friendly; and safe for people, pets and structures once the final cleaning process has taken place. Please not that in the majority of cases there will be a degree of paint and varnish removal as part of the process to remove the contamination.

After the meth remediation of your property by Contam Solututions has ben undertaken, another Detailed Lab Test is required to confirm that the decontamination has been successful. Again this can only be undertaken by an accredited Independant testing company.

Once the independant testing company confirms that your property has been decontaminated successfully and that the levels of meth contamination are now below the Australian standars you will then recieve a property clearance certificate and final report from Contam Solutions.
